Help fixing Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition sound?

After playing fine for a while, all sound except music stops a few minutes after loading a save in Baldur's Gate steam version (Enhanced Edition). I googled for answers, and the vague bits on random forums aren't helpful. I'm running it on Windows 10 64bit, Ryzen 5 2600, GeForce GTX 950 2GB, 16GB DDR4.
