I was wondering what might be the cause of this, from a more scientific or dietary standpoint.
Basically, if I eat bread/rice/potatoes then I'll become very fatigued, very sleepy! Almost like clockwork... after eating those items at a meal, BAM! I'm asleep on the couch within 15-30 minutes.
However... I can eat loads of candy (reese's, Hershey, starburst, etc.) with a much higher sugar/carb count, but not experience ANY of the fatigue and tiredness that follows rice/potatoes. If these candies have a much faster absorption rate which should cause a quicker spike, with a big crash... why do I experience the opposite?
