Dragon King: The Fighting Game was a prototype designed by Sakurai and programmed by Satoru Iwata at HAL Laboratory, which was pitched to Nintendo and would later become the Super Smash Bros. series featuring a crossover of Nintendo’s all-star characters. The prototype had been mentioned in a few Nintendo-published articles and still images were released online over the years, but gameplay footage had never been released until now.
