Tom Brady, widely regarded as the greatest NFL quarterback of all time, was famously drafted in the 6th round of the 2000 NFL Draft, almost near the end. The ESPN coverage of his selection was Lost Media for many years, until it resurfaced in 2018 when someone finally uploaded it to Youtube.
Around the end of the NFL Draft, picks come at rapid fire, and sometimes, when ESPN or NFL Network are on commercial break, they donβt have time to look at them one by one. This might be the main reason why the coverage of Brady's draft selection got lost. Additionally, only the most diehard NFL fans or NFL Draft enthusiasts would still be watching in the 6th round and not prefer to wait to read or hear about it afterward, which also contributed to its obscurity.
Despite the challenges, the resurfacing of the lost media was a momentous occasion for NFL fans and provided a unique opportunity to revisit an important moment in the league's history.
