The following description comes from this project's official website, formerly located at TheFootlooseRemake.com, where it was posted on February 19, 2010:
What is āThe Footloose Remakeā?
We are a collection of amateur filmmakers and video-making enthusiasts, recreating the Kevin Bacon classic and releasing it this summer. Different filmmakers from āaround the worldā have divided the original 1984 Footloose into 54 different scenes. 54 different filmmakers. 54 different Ren McCormackās.
In October 2008 it was announced that Paramount Pictures and Dylan Sellers Productions would be remaking the classic Footloose, starring Zac Efron. We were fed up. The Hollywood remake machine was going to take another solid movie, put it through the ringer, and make a buck from a younger generation.
We decided āLetās beat them to the punch. Letās do this remake our way.ā
Originally slated to release in June 2010, director complications have pushed the release of āThe New Studio Remake Footlooseā back to 2011. Hollywood canāt make it by 2010? We can.
Our fifty-four filmmaker āThe Footloose Remakeā will hit Los Angeles in June, taking the place of Paramountās release.
Letās undermine the Hollywood remake machine.
World Premiere: Thursday July 1st 2010 at The Downtown Independent
This project was the work of an eclectic collection of filmmakers who satirically remade individual scenes from the original 1984 Footloose film in a variety of styles. The scenes were then reassembled into one long affectionate Footloose parody.
Our Footloose Remake (as the finished product came to be titled) was released theatrically in traveling screenings, premiering as promised on July 1, 2010, and was posted for free online viewing via Vimeo in April 2011. Unfortunately, the movie's Vimeo link suffered a takedown notice in 2018 and the film has not been seen online since. After that the movie was considered lost media, with some individual scenes surfacing via their original filmmakers but most remaining unavailable. (Here's its entry on the Lost Media Wiki.)
Many of the folks behind this would go on to the similar project Our RoboCop Remake (2014) which has freely remained online.
I, the uploader, had nothing to do with the production of this movie or any of its segments. I'm just a fan of the project who found this downloaded copy among some old files, learned it had been taken down and lost, and decided to help make it available to the public once again. Included in the upload are the project's film posters as posted to the project's website (a Tumblr blog formerly located at TheFootlooseRemake.com, but since that domain's expiration the content remains viewable at FootlooseRemake.tumblr.com.
Please note that this movie contains a lot of NSFW adult-aimed material, far more than the original film. Please also note disgraced filmmaker Justin Roiland appears in one of the scenes but this post and my fandom of the movie does not constitute an endorsement of him, he can go to hell.
Enjoy! If you like it be sure to grab a download, reshare it, and keep it alive.
