How to push towards/to South Vern

1330 blue gunlancer main, 1310 berserk destroyer
Grinding thru chaos, now realizing RNG coming into play for 6 and up on gear needing the solar mats and such to increase success in honing.
What should I focus on to hit that 1340 bubble so I can head towards south vern and continue the story line?
I'm a psuedo casual player, soloing mainly and having the matchmaking fun for raid encounters to progress
