I put up some weight after recovering from hospitalization last year. I wasn’t doing much exercise (about 20 mins of yoga every day) and eating casually (mostly salads and veggie pasta, low complex carbs, low sugar, no carbonated drinks, no more than 1 fast food meal per week). Since I’m above my ideal weight (about 10 pounds) but within a healthy BMI (<24), I was just trying to keep mindfully eating and doing my thing to keep healthy.
Yesterday I went to the gym with a friend and tried one of those Bioelectrical machines that measure body fat percentage. It indicated that my BFP is 39%!!! Which means I’m technically obese, even if my body looks “normal” and even though I’m not even overweight according to my ideal body weight.
What am I supposed to do? Starve myself? Eat only raw meat? Work out 8 hours everyday? I thought I was doing just fine following common sense with my eating and exercise! Could something be wrong with me? Omfg.
