I was pretty focused for a good bit of last year. F 5'5" - My top weight was about 187... I remember I was down to around 173 the morning of Thanksgiving (it was very slow going and took me about 5 months to lose those lbs).
But ever since Thanksgiving I haven't really been on track. At first it was the holidays. Then I got Covid in early January. I didn't have a bad case but I definitely took it as an excuse to just kind of do whatever I wanted. And I guess since that time I just haven't been really motivated. I've still been exercising at least a couple days a week... But my eating habits have gotten pretty bad.
Strangely enough I haven't regained all the weight. I've been staying below about 175 this whole time.
I also got a new job back in November and work has kind of taken over my life ever since then. I work mostly from home and it's very easy for me to just sit in a chair all day long answering phone calls and sending emails.
this past week I noticed things were creeping up... At first I thought it was just because of shark week but it seems I'm now around 177... And I know things are headed on an upward trend unless I get back on track.
So this is me just kind of recommitting. Going to try and stick to below about 1600 calories a day. Going to try and up my exercise as well to about 4 days a week. I'm going to try to get back on track drinking 8 glasses of water a day. In terms of my eating I need to make a healthier choices for dinner (That's often the only meal of the day that I eat and it's easy for me to go a little crazy). And I need to reduce or eliminate nighttime snacking or at least replace the junk I've been eating with fruits and veggies.
It's not about perfection it's just progress. I'd love to get to about 150 because that will put me in a healthy BMI... But at this point I'm not so focused on numbers and more just focused on habits. Though I do think I am going to get back to weighing myself every morning because I think that helps with accountability.
Thanks for listening. This board has been super helpful in the past and so I just wanted to share where I'm at since I know you've all been there.
