I work in construction and can burn a lot of calories within 8 hours. I started my Journey in January. Did everything right. Started off slow. Made one change at a time. I almost lost my 50th pound last week. But then I inevitably started sliding back into some of my old habits. Started stagnating and got back on track. But lately, I swear I feel like going to a buffet and eating everything in that place. I have a weekly "cheat day" (sometimes cheat weekends. Lol) so I don't go on binging sprees. No dice now. Being in construction I drink a lot of water because I'm out in heat. And even when I'm in doors I drink water. When I'm at home I drink water. I drink calorie drinks at least once a week sometimes more on occasion.
Water has helped to keep my appetite down. And I was good at resisting temptation. But now I've gained a couple pounds back. I was using My Fitness Pal and synced it with a fitness tracker. But what I found myself doing was seeing how much calories I've burned and eat beyond the original limit. It basically gave me an excuse to more. Now granted I should eat more because I am more active but I was going over and I think that effected my appetite because I'm not always burning 1k calories a day. Sometimes it's just 500 calories. So I think my body got used to me eating my adjusted calorie limit. But my current site isn't that physically demanding so I'm not burning as much calories. So I've decided to stop using MFP for a bit so I don't give myself an excuse. I learned a lot from tracking my calories so going without it will be tricky. But I'm hoping me not knowing will help me be more cautious and thus eat less.
I also remembered that peanut butter can help reduce appetite because it's high in protein. So I want to slide in a PB&J and see how that helps. That's the good thing about losing weight slowly. You can make adjustments and if you slip you have the time and space to figure it out and get back on track. 1 pound at a time.
