So, a ton of years ago there was a fad diet called the cabbage soup diet where you basically ate nothing but cabbage soup. Because it had practically zero calories (and nearly as many nutrients) you could eat as much as you want. It was effective, but ultimately unsustainable. My mom LOVED this diet, but oh man the SMELL! Still, it got me thinking. So I decided to jazz it up with vegetables and chicken and I make a HUGE pot at the beginning of the week. I enter everything into my calorie tracker and turn it into a group and I count each bowl as 1/10th of a serving. Whenever my husband or I eat heavy earlier in the day we can turn down the bigger dinner and just have a bowl. It tastes SO good, and it is really filling but only has around 130 calories. My husband and I have decided that it is our secret weapon. Want to go out to dinner with friends? Just have a bowl for lunch and save up your calories. Had a rough day at work and let someone pressure you into a cupcake? Soup!
So what is the thing, food or otherwise, that helps you stay on track?
