I've lost 10 lbs in 2.5 weeks doing CICO- given where I started (very obese, borderline class 3) obviously I'm thrilled. Even with every temptation (some of my favorite junk foods just sitting in the cupboard), I'm finding it easy to resist eating them because dammit, seeing the numbers on the scale go down is mouth-watering in and of itself.
However, I know this can't last forever. There are sooooo many temptations out there. Eventually I'm going to find myself in a convenience store and go "oh, just this once" and buy that extra-large chocolate bar, or hear the crinkle of my boyfriends chip bag and decide to get in on the action. Give it a few months and I'm going to be grumpy eating the same healthy/low calorie snacks and meals and decide to make some of my favorite high-calorie dishes. And I know that this is okay to do once in awhile. But I got where I am now rationalizing doing this all the time, so clearly I am susceptible to issues with moderation, so I want to prepare myself psychologically to not justify slipping back into old habits.
So how did you follow through once the no-nonsense yeah-I'm-gonna-look-so-good high wore off?
