I lost 65lbs the first time I seriously did Keto (and calories in/out). I also balanced out my blood sugar levels and my doctor removed my 'diabetic' diagnosis from my medical record thanks to Keto, so I'm not going to bash it. But, I had my gallbladder removed and I'm coming to the conclusion that Keto is not a viable option for me, a year post-op. My digestive system doesn't like it anymore. I am still very cautious to eat high carb again, since I think I live every day in fear that I'm going to be diabetic again. I have gained about 25lbs back overall, about 20lbs of it came back almost immediately after the surgery, so I'm still in overall better health than I was before. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week to do cardio kickboxing.
I'm looking to see if anyone has any advice on how to perhaps up my carb intake, or any experience with going from one to the other successfully. I want to get a 'healthy' relationship with food, not one where I restrict myself to eliminating a group entirely. But I'm definitely afraid and could use a good anecdote to help me take the step.
