So I bought a new scale at the start of my weight loss journey. It was a $20 one from Target. Previously I've used other scales around the house, but I figured this way I would have my own to rely on. Also the ones in my house are super old. So every time I put it on my tile floor, I get a different reading. I was reading old searched items today and it suggested a basement or garage floor so that the floor was level.
I decided to go downstairs and weigh myself and then come back up, find a spot in my bathroom that had the same weight and weigh myself there every day. My bathroom is small enough that I can't leave the scale out at night, but a similar location would be a good start. From location to location my scale varies at least ten pounds (I weighed in at 125 lbs, 118lbs, and 109 lbs today within about 5 minutes).
My scale weighed me not only the same in the basement but also the same in every single spot I tried on my bathroom floor. (Even the spaces where I know it usually varies) Scales don't 'recalibrate' right? There's no way I put it on a level floor and it suddenly evened itself out? Do I have to do this again tomorrow? Do I have to weigh myself in the basement every day from now on? I want my weight to be accurate and consistent and I'm worried that I'm gaining and not losing since my data collection has been inconsistent.
