Been lurking for a bit, thought it was time to say hi and talk about my progress and plateaus.
Post Body

Hello r/loseit, I thought it was time to introduce myself and share my weight loss experience so far. I'm 29 years old, 5'6 tall, and currently weigh 220 pounds. I started doing a pretty strict Paleo diet some time in January and have lost a fantastic 40 pounds since! I also was put in a new position at work which requires me to walk a lot. According to my phone, I have been walking at least 7 miles a day. I attempt to log as much as I can but am not very good at it.

Now I'm nervous, because in high school I weighed 180 pounds, after high school is when I started driving and stopped walking everywhere. I then grew to 200, then 220 pounds. I stayed at 220-225 for the majority of my 20s, it was like no matter what I did I couldn't lose nor gain weight. It was only in the last year that I gained the weight that put me at 260. I didn't even notice it until one day I found it difficult to reach behind me and wipe my own ass. Then I weighed myself, which I hadn't done in a long time, and was hit hard with how much I had gained.

So now I'm 220 again, for the past 3 months I have been weighing daily and watching the weight come off steadily. Now I'm afraid it's not going to continue, it's just gonna stay this way until I become so discouraged I give up and go back to my old ways. My goal weight is 170 pounds, I am hoping if I persevere and not slip up with my eating I can break through this barrier and keep it going.

Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant but I just needed to vent!
