I’ve recently decided to walk home from campus. I’m a graduate student that needs to lose quite a bit of weight (~95 kg more). The other thing that has motivated me is that if I walk home, I can go to a cheaper grocery store than the one close to my apartment.
I take the bus to campus, and have breakfast at about 08:30. Lunch is around 12:30, but that’s the last meal I have until I get home to make dinner. I normally leave the lab any time between 19:00 ~ 21:00. It’s about a 2.7 km walk to my apartment. However, by the time I leave the lab, I’m very, very hungry and it’s really tempting to just take the bus home.
But, I really want to walk for the exercise and to save money on groceries. Is there something that I can bring with me, or keep in my desk that I can eat before I have to walk home that will abate the hunger long enough for me to get home and make dinner?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
