I feel like every time I mention weight loss to others, everyone seems to think they have the end-all answer on how to do it.
"Just cut out most carbs and you'll def lose weight."
"You probably don't eat enough carbs, they're essential to the human diet, cutting carbs is a myth"
"Just eat smaller portions of everything and you can eat whatever you want."
"You go to the you gym every day, why are you dieting? You don't have to if you're working out"
"It's not about the calories, it's about the food itself. Real food is so much better for you than that fake low-calorie stuff you always eat."
"You really should stop having sugar free stuff, the chemicals in that will make it harder to lose weight."
And these were all in the last week! I feel like I should just nod and pretend I agree and change the subject, but it's just so frustrating! Different diets work for different people. My boyfriend is the worst of this because he's one of those only eat "real food" people. Yesterday, we were trying to decide where to go out to breakfast, and I suggested Au Bon Pain because I know they have an egg white sandwich that's only 230 calories, and he goes off on a rant about how bad for you the food there is because it's all processed and stuff... and he says he wants to go to a restaurant where they serve real eggs. And I told him that an omelette there probably is 500 calories and soaked in butter and he just insisted it doesn't matter if it's high calorie, it's going to be better for you because it's "real."
Have you guys experienced this? How do you guys deal with people trying to change your weight loss philosophies?
