28M here, and like the title says I've been stuck at 67-69kg for about 2-3 weeks and feeling very lost in my fat loss journey at the moment.
So for some context, I've always been a skinny fat guy (no muscle, high body fat) and thanks to COVID I hit my highest weight to about 90kg. (173cm for reference) Well in 2022 I hit my local gym and ended up losing 12kg in 1.4 years by lifting 3-4 times a week and walking daily for 10-14k steps. But after hitting 78kg I hit a plateau for months. So fast forward months later and I decided to go on a deficit because that was the only way I needed to lose body fat, so I went from 2500 calories to 1800 calories. I counted calories with my phone app and ensured I got 115g of protein a day which worked. I managed to keep whatever muscles I had and removed some fat. But 3.5 months later I hit a plateau, I've hit some plateaus here or there but they lasted a few days to at most 1 week but this time it was different. I hit 67.4kg and I could never go lower, infact I kept hovering around 67-69kg area for weeks and I made a post in r/BulkOrCut and the guys in my post told me to continue cutting but losing more weight and body fat seems impossible at this point. Frankly, this plateau took a hit on my mental health overall so I stopped dieting as of this week.
So this week I have eaten daily to about my maintenance calories (2.5k calories some days a bit more or less) but truthfully I'm unsure what to do. I wanted to lose more weight, lose the fat that I've dreaded about myself my entire life, but I have zero idea how to overcome this plateau, and again I've eaten 1800 calories which is as low as I will go, 1500 calories a day seems very unsustainable and it'd be difficult for me to hit my protein intake that I'd need. I've heard about reverse dieting but I've heard mixed things about it. For now, I'm planning to eat at maintenance for 3-4 weeks and try cutting again to see if that helps. But any other advice or suggestions is appreciated!
