Is it too early to change my deficit? 3.5 weeks in
Post Body

33M, 5’11”, SW: 206lbs CW: 200lbs GW: 175lbs

So I’m 3.5 weeks into a weight loss phase where I’m counting every calorie and gram of protein. I’m also resistance training 5 days per week, and do cardio 2-3 days per week.

My SW was 206lbs, but this was after maybe 3 days of clean eating and calorie restriction, I didn’t weigh myself prior to that.

I now weigh 200.2lbs, so I’ve lost just about 6lbs in 3.5 weeks. I’m sure this is a mix of water and fat, but I assume that a lot of the water weight was shed in those first three days. I typically weighed around 210-212 prior to actually trying to lose weight, but those numbers were from months ago.

I’ve been eating 2080cals per day, aiming for a 500cal deficit as I want to lose fat sustainably but also build some muscle. But with the rate that I’m losing weight at, I’m worried that my deficit may be higher and my TDEE is wrong.

Should I bump my calories to say, 2200? Or is it too early to tell?
