For context, I lost 80lbs in two years. During that time I intermittently fasted having only lunch. Didn’t have too much protein or strength train. I was stable at 140lbs for 1.5 years. I then gained 14lbd where I fluctuate between 150-154lbs. Been struggling since March to go below 150lbs. Been stumped.
I went to my doctor who specializes in weight loss. We did a metabolic test and my metabolism is abysmal. I’m two standard deviations lower than the normal. My TDEE is actually 1181 calories. To lose weight I can only eat 600 calories. The doctor said this is likely due to losing too much muscle and weight loss won’t effectively work unless I gain more lean muscle. I honestly cried hearing this news.
I do personal training but might not be able to with my schedule changing soon. I somehow have to gain lean muscle plus barely eat? Has anyone else had really bad metabolism but found a way to lose weight? My goal weight is ideally 135lbs. Is my doctor’s assessment correct? I just want to go below 150.
