Post Body

I'm 55F, I should start there. Tall-ish (5'8" ) and I've lost like 60 lbs using Zepbound over a year or so. (sw 250/cw 190) My A1C was always wildly high - so that's how I started on Mounjaro/now on Zepbound. My goal weight is likely 160. (I'm very chesty - so always weighed a little more than others who wore the same sizes)

The weight loss has been pretty easy - I don't have particularly disordered eating so it was just less appetite and staying full longer. No side effects really. I had put on the weight slowly over the years until I gotten up to 250 and I think I was even heavier at some point. I've gone to the gym for the last 6 months doing mostly weight training.

Here's the RUB - my newly smaller body doesn't look great AT ALL. For SURE it's nice to be in size 12s (sometimes 10s!) down from stretchy size 16s!) but seeing my body now - at this age - is kinda weird and awful. My lumps and bumps are gross. My thighs are very strong but downright DEFORMED by cellulite - no joke. I didn't look like this when I was younger and this size and DEFINATELY didn't look like this at my top weight. I was round and fluffy!

I have a thick middle - thanks to menopause, I'm sure. I guess. And the rippled flesh isn't not limited to my legs - my VERY strong arms have cellulite too! It's like I deflated myself from my plump 250 lbs -and am left with a lumpy mess.

There's not much to do, of course. I don't have lose flesh exactly it's just LUMPY as all get out. I've exchanged not wanting to go to the beach in a bathing suit because I was BIG to not wanting to do it because of the enormity of my cellulite.

I'm staying the course - will keep working out in hopes that it minimizes the way I look. But boy - not what I expected when I started this weight loss journey.

I'm leaving the way this weight loss has affected my face out of this conversation...it's so bad. I 10000% look older and there's not much to do about it. I am going to get some botox to see if it helps a little around my eyes. I was always told I looked a bit younger than my age - NO MORE. I got the SENIORS discount at the market without even being asked the other day. (60 !)

Anyway - just curios to know what other older folks have experienced. How to deal with the mixed bag of losing weight when you're older. I mentioned it to my friend and she thinks I have body dysmorphia. Just kept saying how much better I looked. Mmmmm m'kay!

Thanks! Upward and onward!
