Ive been consistent with the gym for for about 2 years now and going at least 4 days a week and made some amazing progress from losing weight and also gaining it finding my sweet spot where I wanna sit at. Well these last few months I have been slacking on my workouts and miss days even. I took a deload week because at some point I hit a plateau and fatigued where my body just gave up, felt a little better even though weights were significantly lighter than usual. But idk what is going on that I lost complete interest in the gym. I’m extremely tired after work, these 3 digit temperatures and 100 percent humidity drains the energy I have, and going to the gym feels like a chore now. I feel like I’m losing all my progress. I haven’t gained any weight because I’m still watching what I eat but not as strict, but have been growing a small belly. I try not to compare myself to influencers online cus most of them are on some sort of enhancement and I know I will never hit that goal being a natural lifter, but sometimes it does get to me that my friends look really good natural but they also don’t work as much or at a physically demanding job and this is all they do all day. Should I just take a break from the gym until I get that spark back? I feel I get enough of a workout at my work because I’m constantly moving and climbing towers and lifting and moving heavy equipment all day for 8 hours a day. I feel it’s hurting me mentally.
TLDR: gym is not fun anymore, I’m mentally done with going because life is happening and moving, job is extremely physically demanding and progress is stagnant/declining. What should I do? Should I try other activities that keep me active?
