As we all probably know, there are a lot of sneaky ways for calories to quickly pile up. This however also means there are some easy ways to cut them out. What are yours?
I personally:
β no longer drink my calories. When I want a soda I switch to zero calorie options, when I feel like drinking hot chocolate I switch to tea (I used to drink hot chocolate daily, now it's an every now and then thing)
β I order dressing/sauce on the side. Not only do I prefer how it doesn't make the food soggy, I also end up using less of it, sometimes even not using any at all
β I dab off the oil. I don't like greasy things anyway and it doesn't improve the taste either
β if something doesn't make a meal taste better, I remove it. I ate a sandwich last week and the mozzarella slices weren't adding anything for me. Normally I would've eaten them regardless, but I decided to remove them and I still enjoyed my sandwich
β when baking I use ZΓΉsto instead of sugar, it has 75% less calories and doesn't impact the taste
β I don't mindlessly eat biscuits anymore, if I crave sweet snacks I grab fruit, if I crave carbs I go for cashews, etc.
β rather than eat leftovers to not waste them, I put them in the fridge for the next day. Not only does it prevent me overeating, it helps me replace a meal which is often a sandwich (yes I love sandwiches) with something healthier as the leftovers are often vegetables and potatoes
