Hey, I'm new to this subreddit and I just want to share and log this small victory for my future motivation or somebody else's.
tl;dr: struggled to lose weight due to mom's yummy food, moved to Hamburg, started CICO with weight lifting and walking, lost 15.9 kg / 35 lbs in 3 months.
On September 25, 2023, I moved to Hamburg, Germany. Before that, I used to live close to my parents' house, and there was unlimited yummy food, which made losing weight super hard for me. I'm a software developer, and I have a very sedentary life sitting in front of the computer, whether I'm at the office or working from home. I'm a 5'6" / 169 cm tall male, and I weighed 118.3 KG / 260.8 lbs at the beginning.
After moving and with no mom's yummy food, I decided to finally control my diet and follow CICO. I started with 2000 calories per day, 3 days of weight lifting, and 2 days of 5k steps walking around the city. I didn't see any weight difference, maybe because of my sedentary lifestyle; my metabolism was super low. I decreased my calorie intake to 1800 and increased my steps to 10k (2 days). At this point, I started to see some drops in weight every week. I decided to go one month with this plan until I reach a plateau or get super bored.
In my last month, I increased my walking days to 4, which means walking 10k steps 4 days a week in the bad weather of lovely Hamburg. Now, on December 25, 2023, I weigh 102.4 KG / 225.7 lbs.
I'm happy to share these results with you guys, and I'm getting motivated everyday with all your posts to keep losing more weight until I reach 75 KG / 165 lbs.
