Losing weight for a marathon (and my health)
Post Body

Evening all,

I've just signed up to run a marathon for charity. This is something I've always wanted to do - I used to run a lot but work/life/family have gotten in the way and I've put on a lot of weight. I also have an 'interesting' relationship with food, that I believe at least borders on Binge Eating Disorder.

Two years ago I had a significant infection in my foot, which caused a lot of damage to the lymph nodes. This means that any extra weight I'm carrying has a disproportionate impact on my foot and ankle.

Today I started. Had a run and have eaten very well (at a slight deficit). The marathon isn't for four months, so I have time, and consistency is going to be key.

Currently 89kg, and I'll no longer be 'overweight' at 82kg.

Posted for accountability and will keep updated. Wish me luck!

Also, thank you for all the inspiring stories on here. They've given me the confidence I can do it.
