A Tip I learned on Managing Hunger
Post Body

Disclaimer: This is my opinion and this is from me doing research on myself. I'd love to hear what you guys have done to lose weight yourself as this could help me add to my repertoire.

One of the most annoying things I had to go through was handling my hunger when losing weight. And before I wanted to do anything like workout, I wanted to start small and do things one step at a time. Shout out to the Atomic Habits book! Some people may not be able to handle counting calories, like me, so I went in search for finding ways to curb my hunger. Here is what I learned:

There are Different Types of Protein Powders

Yeah, this surprised me. I know people say you can supplement food with a Protein Shake but, what I did not realize is that there are other types. The most known ones I hear is Whey Protein. The problem with Whey Protein, is that its best used when you are working out and only when you are working out. Using it as a meal supplement and not doing anything afterwards is not the best because Whey Protein spikes your insulin. Which, if you wanna lose weight, may not be the best decision.

A substitute I use is Casein Protein. Like Whey, it comes from milk, difference is, it digests slower and you can have this as a meal supplement with lets say, a small, HEALTHY, dish. What it helped me with is making me feel full and I can handle my hunger better without it making me go nuts and impulsively order food. Bonus, you can have this before bed too.

Psyllium Husk Powder

I heard about this from an r/askReddit post on "What was the laziest way you lost weight?" And I bought this myself Psyllium Husk Powder from Amazon and it has really helped me hold down my hunger by a long shot! What I noticed it does is when in water, it soaks it up into a gel and this actually helps you hold down your hunger so well that I forget to have lunch during work cause I had this in the morning. Longest I have held was from 9 AM to 7 PM but, you can get cranky due to an empty stomach so like the Casein Protein, have it with something small.

How does it Taste?

I got these two brands of each:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTRSQS4V?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_k1_1_7&amp=&crid=2CE5JVS73TTSJ&amp=&sprefix=casein

https://www.amazon.com/Its-Just-Psyllium-Non-GMO-Dietary/dp/B07RYBVLH8/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=psyllium husk powder&qid=1692740516&rdc=1&sprefix=Psy,aps,124&sr=8-6

Now, I cannot say for the Casein as depending on the brand, you might get different flavored ones but, this brand makes me feel like Im drinking something chalky and milky at the same time. And the Husk Powder, I can tell you right now.....ITS GROSS (IMO). Its very grainy and it took me a while to get used to it.

DO NOT MIX THEM TOGETHER!

Not saying it'll do anything bad but, it just taste twice as worse but, again, it depends on the brand. Im sure if you got some Chocolate Flavored Casein and mix it with the Husk Powder, you will definitely be able to stomach it but, thats up to you.

And, thats about it. I know losing weight can be hard and slow. It can be more annoying if you cannot handle your appetite and that was my problem but, thanks to me focusing more on my eating and finding ways to curb my hunger by making me feel full without me worrying so much about how much I ate, I was able to lose weight and get out of 200 pounds. I do not do so much exercise instead I walk ALOT and with my Apple Watch, I make sure All 3 rings are full before going home. Im sure when I add weight training and this Casein Husk Powder combo, losing weight would be significantly easier since I now dont have to worry about my eating so much. Still eat though. I can say with this combo, I have One actual meal that day and a snack rather than me eating 2 or 3 meals. Hope this helps! Keep Going!!!!!!
