Is there any benefit to doing cardio on an empty stomach?

I do cardio every day, but it’s usually after I have a nice meal. I’ve read and some corners of the Internet that if you do cardio on an empty stomach, your body burns fat as fuel instead of food you’ve just consumed, but how true is this? And if it is true, does it even really matter? If you have a calorie deficit anyways, your body will be burning fat for fuel throughout the day regardless, so doesn’t really make any kind of a difference if you burn fat while doing cardio?
