Confusion about cheat days?
Post Body

I don't personally have any cheat days, so let me just go ahead and clarify that now. I have a 1000 calorie deficit, and try to stick to that as much as I can. One meal a day, and soylent for the other meal.

But from what I have seen here on /r/loseit, is that when people mention cheat days, the comments say that they're undoing the progress they made throughout the week. This is confusing to me, and here's why:

WHen I think of a cheat day, I think of having a day where I just simply don't have a deficit. This does not mean, however, that I go over my TDEE. My TDEE is 2300 a day. This is sedentary, and I simply add calories from working out on top of that number if I work out that day. I eat approx 1300 calories per day because of this, slightly more if I work out. If I do this 6 days a week, and burn 1000 calories a day with that deficit, by the time I reach Sunday, I would have burned approx 2lbs. 6000 calories down. If I then have a cheat day where I don't count calories, and end the day with neutral weight gain/loss, why would this undo any progress I made throughout the day? Or am I perhaps missing something? I may have a different definition for cheat day than others, so I woudl love to know what may be going on here. Do pepole eat like 4k calories on their cheat days or something?
