is 2 pounds per week extremely unrealistic?
Post Body

I'm a male, 5'11'' 37 years old and eating about 1800 cal per day. I've lost 27 pounds so far, but am only losing about a pound per week, sometimes close to 1.5 pounds.

This is really frustrating because when I started out on this journey I set up my calories and timeframe to hit 2 pounds per week, and if I only hit 1 - 1.5 pounds per week it's going to add months to the amount of time it's going to take.

I have even gone some weeks eating only 1500 calories per day (which I know is very low, probably too low for a male so save your comments) but still can't seem to get close to 2 pounds per week.

Is it possible I am only losing 1 - 1.5 pounds per week right now but that the weight loss will speed up at another point in my weight loss journey? Is 2 pounds per week actually just very extreme and not a realistic goal?

I don't understand why these calorie apps all use 2 pounds per week as the ultimate goal if it's so hard to achieve unless you are basically starving yourself. Or maybe I am doing something wrong?
