The right amount of calories

So a few years ago I suffered a career ending injury that caused me to be able to very minimal physical activity, this along with some depression about the event led to me gaining 100 pounds. Iโ€™m now cleared to work out again and Iโ€™m trying to eat better by tracking the calories I consume daily. The problem is I donโ€™t know how much I should consume to lose weight and all the calorie calculators I look at vary anywhere from 1900-2600. Any advice would be appreciated.
