I've done it again.
Christmas has always and probably will always fall on December 25, once a year, and allows for plenty of time in advance for one to complete their gift shopping.
But I've done it again: I waited until the last week (the last few days, really) to do my Christmas shopping.
Perhaps it's just my personality. Perhaps I like the challenge or the thought that any last minute gift ideas that haven't yet popped into my head will come to me with only a few days to spare.
I know I'm not the only one. Look at it out there, the traffic, the hustling and bustling, all the crazies losing their minds and fighting one another for whatever the newest gift sensation is this year, like the Tickle Me Elmos of the past...remember those?
So I've decided to brace myself and start tomorrow, spread my shopping out over the remaining days of this week, driving around Los Angeles with a shopping list that's only half-completed. But I need more ideas. I need help.
Are any of you out there in a similar bind?
Let's do it together then! I'll drive. I'll buy lunch, the drinks, the weed, the whatever. I may even buy you a little sweet something if we end up vibing well, laughing and sharing embarrassing stories you would only tell a stranger you just met during a holiday shopping extravaganza.
Don't let me go crazy alone out there in the mad world of Los Angeles. Let us guide one another, fulfill desires, dreams and ambitions as one.
Let's go nuts! Cuz remember, it happens only once a year. We know better. We're veterans.
We're humans avoiding responsibility at all cost.
