Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the presentation of awards for the first Lorde Cup!
Each officially released song by Lorde or featuring Lorde, excluding remixes, battled one another. Each song fought valiantly, and with true honour. However, only one can be crowned winner.
Firstly, I would like to thank every person who participated. Without your line of data in the spreadsheet, these awards would be pointless. To everyone who commented a battle cry for a particular song, or moaned about how a particular pairing was beyond comprehension, thank you. Your dedication to the Lorde is what she deserves.
Our top song received 2255 points, and was 11 points in front of the rest of the competitors. it should be of no surprise that the top song of the first Lorde Cup goes to... Ribs from Pure Heroine.
In second place with 2244 points, our runner up is... The Louvre from Melodrama.
Supercut from Melodrama, A World Alone from Pure Heroine, and Perfect Places from Melodrama rounded out the top five.
Unfortunately, there has to be a worst song. This probably isn't the fault of Lorde, not being her song. The bottom song of the first Lorde Cup goes to... Easy (Switch Screens) from Son Lux's Alternate Worlds EP.
Ladder Song from the Lorde-curated Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 soundtrack, Biting Down from Pure Heroine, Everybody Wants to Rule the World from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack, and Million Dollar Bills from Pure Heroine complete the bottom five, as chosen by you.
Melodrama and Pure Heroine have been effectively put against each other, song by song, in this Cup. The top album of the first Lorde Cup goes to... Melodrama with an average of 1876 points. Pure Heroine (excluding Extended tracks) received an average of 1755 points, however when including Extended tracks, this drops to an average of 1467 points.
If anyone wants more data, just ask and I'll be happy to provide!
