Is this a good goal to strive towards, or does it just look douchy?

Go about 15% longer on the hair and cultivate a brutally lined-up 5 o'clock and it'll look "surfer" rather than "dude who wants everyone to know he surfs".
Would probably suggest going darker with the hair too mayhaps.
Run through at least 15 different options for shades to lock down the right shape.
Oh yeah.
Don't tan. Not really that fashionable anymore nor all that healthy.
