Why are magnums a terrible idea

Post Body

I've been told to stay away from magnums when getting into long range shooting with a bolt action rifle, long time ar builder and currently reload for 6.5 creed,7mm,9mm,223,and sub 300 blk. I'm considering building a 300 prc for elk and deer, and shooting at the range out to 2k yards(limit for my property)I currently shoot 7mm bolt and all the rest are semis. This would be my first bolt action rifle build, and I want a rifle that I would never grow out of. Question 1-Other than recoil, weight and the ability to spot shots what are other drawbacks? Question 2-where would I begin the build(action, chassis, etc) Question 3-what would be some good reputable places to buy these parts? Example mdt Question 4- with a 4k budget,(not including optics)what kind of build would be a good ,mag capable, route to consider? I appreciate any help, thanks
