I went to Kismet, Fire Island, this past week and have never felt more at peace with life. Is there another Long Island-based place that has a similar, laid-back/margaritaville vibe?
Post Body

This past week, I decided to take a last-minute road trip to Long Island because I had never been. On the way to Montauk, I decided to visit Fire Island. I walked the stretch of beach on western Fire Island and ended up in a town called Kismet. I can't stop thinking about this town. The town is super friendly, laid back, and has a sorta margaritaville vibe. People walk into the one market with no shoes, everyone says hi, and there are no cars. I can't explain what happened, but I had never felt more at peace with myself. Like, all my chakras instantaneously aligned LOL. I skipped Montauk and stayed there the whole day. After spending 4 years in Boston, 1 in Nevada, and the rest of my adult life in California, I forgot what that feeling is like - to feel total contentment. I know it's not just the fact that I was taking a break from Boston because I often visit a new town every month or so. But, I have never had this feeling before. I've even thought about buying a house there but the cost is prohibitive for me right now.

Is there a town/neighborhood in NY or Long Island that has a similar vibe to Kismet/Fire Island. Some place that isn't stuffy or chaotic, but is very laid back? I can work remotely anywhere in NY, so I'm open to any suggestions.
