Washing long hair
Help with hair washing
In the last two years I’ve had about 6 inches of healthy growth so my hair is about 34 inches. It’s fine but I have a lot of it. it gets greasy quickly and tangled. this year I wasn’t washing it as much and was also picking at my scalp which led me to getting seb derm. I was also super stressed which led to me losing so much hair in February. My hair is still healthy and the seb derm isnt necessarily flaky so I’m not even sure if it was the right diagnosis. ANYWAYS I’m having a hell of a time washing it ! It seems like no matter what I do there’s still shampoo in it. I probably spend 30 minutes in the shower on a hair wash day just trying to get all of the soap out of it. I flip my hair up upside down. I tried to part it. I add conditioner, so it moves around easier. 🤷♀️ I even just put a new showerhead in because the other one I had didn’t come down it was fixed to the wall. Also a day or two after washing I’m noticing my scalp doesn’t smell fresh, like there’s a build up or something. I used nozoral for a bit because it was recommended but it almost made it worse. I’ll put a product list that I use - ceravae SA cleanser (just used tonight as shampoo to help with build up - unite 7 seconds conditioner every time I shower only on the ends unless my hair is really dry - nizoral shampoo x2 a week. I hate the way it makes my hair feel but I’m scared about the seb derm - kerasilk exfoliating scalp pre wash once every couple weeks or so - Sebcur T which is SA and coal tar. Helps if my scalp is really irritated but again - hate the way it makes my hair feel - AVC rince every so often to help with build up if my hair isn’t super dry - keune care derma regulate shampoo occasionally
Main issue here is getting the soaps out of my hair. It’s crazy how much I can rinse and keep seeing suds but with my oily scalp I can’t afford to not use shampoos
i made a post about this and got some rlly good advice! the post is still up on my profile
