I'm still relatively new to having long hair. I usually kept it tied up so it doesn't catch fire or get caught in machinery, so I've kept it one length to make that easier. I'm trying to date now and I'd like my hair to look good when I go out. I've envied curly hair for so long, and I'm fairly certain my hair wants to curl but I'm doing something wrong. I will say that my hair is very soft, smells good, has no split ends, and is healthy, so I'm happy with everything but the appearance.
Will layering encourage my hair to curl more? It's thick so I think it weighs itself down. I'm getting a trim tomorrow, so I could try something different.
Are the products I use an issue?
Any advice is appreciated.
I don't use any heat or chemicals in my hair. It has never been bleached or colored. I have a silk pillowcase, use claw clips, and air-dry rather than towel-dry to minimize damage. I get it wet every day in the shower, but only shampoo and condition once a week, followed by the other products in the images I've attached. I don't brush it, but use a wide-toothed comb to part and discourage tangles, usually right before I shower.
Thank you for any help.
