🤓☝️ um ackshually it's illegal to break the sound barrier anywhere over land cause it breaks shit and makes a lot of noise and that's why the Concorde failed (I have airplane autism)
My old Asheville friends all skated runs like this without ever putting their hands down it was insane. I've been trying for years to learn stand-ups and have not made significant progress. 😭
I actually paid money to have them removed 😅 if you find them you can have them
Oh yeah that's my boyfriend, he's in me a lot.
Rake and baseplate angle are two different things, rake isn't gonna make a huge difference but the angle of the baseplate will
Yeah. I'm a much more talented snowboarder than skateboarder so I like beeeeg bord with beeg trucks. Something about how the stance involves facing much more forward than sideways and how you lean left/right instead of forward/back gives my braincell the heebie geebies. I just wanna stand facing sideways and lean forward/back like god intended.
My parents are flight instructors c: that's where I get it from
That hinges on whether they can find a way to dampen the sonic boom which is a super long shot :)
Ye had Aaron spot me through the gooch

The problem is, a really really good skater will probably be able to do 45mph on 50° Paris syms sure, but you're shooting yourself in the foot by not having a split setup.
Back in Asheville people always showed up to the downhill function on a sym setup and snakes but I learned very quickly that if I did that in Colorado I would get vibrated off my board and die because the roads here are total garbage due to the snow.
On anything symmetrical as a beginner downhill skateboarder you're gonna be really struggling cause as the speed goes up you're gonna keep tightening the back truck so much just to feel like you're not about to immediately perish. And tightening up the setup is just gonna make your cornering worse and make you go even slower.
Don't get Cal 3s, get the new Seismic Aeons, which come split. A lot of my DH friends skate professionally for Seismic because they're local, and I tried them on a friend's setup and they felt like essentially split cast precisions. I can ride them so loose at speed because of the new bushing tech, and that has been huge for my form because I'm not stomping the board into the ground just for a little bit of turn anymore.
I ride them so loose that I can get wheelbite while standing still, actually.
I ride their 45° model in front and their 30° model in back, and the bushings are split too but I don't know the specifics. I just told Aaron I weigh about 145lbs and he chose the setup for me cause he's way better than I am.
TL;DR you're gonna need split angle trucks and beeg wheels to really improve
