How so? By thinking it's ludicrous to compare general blue collar work with that of joining the police force? Many people argue that police officers ARE NOT blue collar workers.
Also, blue collar jobs historically see cycles of growth and decline but recent data actually shows a resurgence in blue collar sectors.
Tbh I don't give a fuck about the police one way or the other.
