This year, I’m spending New Year’s Eve alone again, but for the first time, I don’t feel sad about it. In fact, I feel kind of free. There’s no pressure to make plans, no stressing over what to wear, or pretending to enjoy myself at a party when I’d rather be at home.
Instead, I’m planning to do exactly what I want—maybe cook something nice, watch a movie I love, or just reflect on the past year and what I want from the next one. It feels good to realize that being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely.
Anyone else embracing a solo New Year’s? What are you doing to make it special for yourself?
