A Wolf with Tiger's stripes wanders a frozen tundra

His snout lifted to the air for the faintest scent

All in vain for the snowy winds carry none

He seeks not for food to fill his belly

He seeks not for rivals in his territory

What he seeks is the Mate he once had

The Mate was so true and the Wolf was so bad

Years ago the Wolf had run away from her

Time and time again he tried coming back to her

Time and time again she turned him down

She was kind to him until he came back manic

That time the Wolf had caused her to panic

In anger she warned him that he better stop

In fashion he fled again without another thought

He never meant to cause her so much sadness

He never meant to act like such a savage

The Wolf has dreams of reunion and redemption

And each night he looks to the moon in the sky

He howls his sorrows and sadness into the night

Each and every one carries his solemn plight

That she might hear him and welcome him back

That he might make up for his previous acts

He remembers her warning to cease and desist

Yet the Wolf continues to howl and resist

The Wolf desires a second chance and new start

His wish is to be with the one he once parted

Leaving her years ago was his greatest mistake

To be alone in the snow for his own selfish sake

He realized years later she gave him a chance

Yet he was too blind and refused to advance

Back then she offered to start from the beginning

The Wolf left because he felt he was not winning

And so the dream he had of losing her came through

All because he was too selfish to be true

Now he's plagued by dreams of being with her again

Dreams that say he'll have what could have been

Now on some nights the Wolf sends his cry

A lonely howl in hopes she'll give him one more try
