I was never the most social person but I had a small very close nit group of friends throughout school and for years afterwards. As we’ve all gotten a bit older (25 or so) we don’t have as much time to spend with eachother for various reasons. Work, school, relationships etc. Most of my friends are in serious relationships at this point. 3 are married and one has a kid. Another two are in serious long term relationships that in all likelihood will probably lead to marriage soon. Most of them have solid jobs and three of them own their own houses.
Meanwhile I’m single, barely making enough money to get by, living in my mothers house (partially because I could barely afford to rent and partially because she needs help with things around the house and would struggle on her own). Looking at my friends and comparing their situation to mine makes me feel like I’ve barely made any progress since highschool and they’ve all gone on and become real adults. That combined with the fact that they just don’t have the time to hang out like we all used to leaves me feeling pretty isolated.
People have suggested I try dating but I don’t really get out much so it’s hard for me to meet people. And I’ve tried online dating and honestly it kills my self esteem. So yeah that’s my vent, any advice would be welcome.
