six months and counting
Post Body

okay so originally I was going to call this post 3 months, and then I counted

so basically the city I live in which has 12,000 people according to the sign, which is hard to believe because I can walk down every single Street in the city every day for weeks and not meet anyone

the city had one tennis court and it was pretty rough, very old and the ground which was asphalt was all cracked up and it's surface had deteriorated significantly but I think it was still possible to play on it, the only deterrent would be the loose gravel which could have been swept I think

anyway I invited at least one person to play tennis with me there before and nobody did

so years passed and lo and behold the city decides to tear the old Court out and put in two new ones

I was thrilled, this is f$&$*'-'::"" awesome yeah .

so I made a group on the nextdoor app I put out some tentacles or feelers or whatever I think I told some people about it

and then poof the project was complete since then I talked to almost everybody I have met and strangers even and said hey you want to play tennis I'll play tennis with you

I put up a Craigslist post and it got numerous responses but then nothing came through

so here I am 6 months after they were completed and still haven't played one single game of tennis with anybody since I took community college classes like 6 years ago in which case people were forced to come in and play or receive a bad grade and some of them probably only took it to satisfy some PE requirement maybe this is just me being cynical

I didn't even say I wanted to play proper tennis, just you know, hang out on the court with some rackets and smack the ball around, the only rule being try to keep the ball within the court

so I just walk around the tennis courts by myself sometimes which is okay

I like the new tennis courts, they're pretty and fancy. the city must have spent a Fortune to build them

posting text to the internet is like pouring a bucket of salt into the ocean
