Are we ready to accept this great city is dying due to the government in charge?

The list could go on. I remember as a child London was on par with NY and Tokyo. No other cities came close. Paris was a distant 2nd tier famous capital. Now we are behind at least 20 other cities IMHO. Could we turn it around? What would need to be done?

Edit: Just to clarify. I live in and love this city. This post was not an attack. It's just my personal opinion that it could be so much more. Progress has stalled and others are catching up. Crime has rocketed. Underfunding of so many areas. I will live out my years in this metropolis. I just believe through rose tinted glasses, 20 years ago, this city for it's time was better than now for 2024 as a comparison to others
