Wanna know more about the cycling culture in London

Post Body

As a prospective college student, let's say I wish to cycle everyday to college instead of commuting by train (nearest station will be Baker Street), what's the reasonable radius I can stay in. As in, normally, how far do commuters cycle to and from their colleges. Do people even prefer cycle for daily commute over trains? Especially with the ever-changing weather, traffic, and road pollution.

Additionally, what's the cost involved? Purchase / Rent for bicycle, accessories, licences?

Any info is appreciated.
