So bear with me, I didn’t sleep last night and I was reading reactions to last week’s Loki. Possible spoilers? I’m not getting too deep into the show that wasn’t already available before the show premiered, but rather what the show could be leading up to in the MCU.
I have a working theory that Wandavision and Loki are much much more important than we think they are. (Falcon and the Winter Soldier too, but that’s a different story line in the works that I don’t think will connect as much.)
Anyway, if you have seen episodes 1-3 of Loki you know that Loki is a time variant hunting another time variant counterpart of himself, who reveals herself to be Sylvie. My theory posits that neither Loki or Sylvie are actually time variants and the series will conclude by allowing both to live on as part of the “Sacred Timeline,” because they were always meant to. Mobius says in episode one that what the Avengers did in Infinity War/Endgame was supposed to happen. Well if that’s the case, Tony Stark was meant to fail at getting the Tesseract and Loki was supposed to pick it up and BAMF his way out of there like he was Nightcrawler. What if this was also supposed to happen to set the Multiverse back in the correct course?
The TVA Timeline is explained by that cartoon in episode one. But just like the Avengers needed to alter the past to save the Universe, Loki needed to steal the Tesseract, to be caught by the TVA, to destroy the TVA, and help his counterpart Sylvie save the Multiverse.
I believe the show will solidify the Multiverse as the correct course of time and that the TVA are wrong. The TVA’s Sacred Timeline is false. The Multiverse is the only true course and flow of time and is the real “Sacred Timeline.” (And think about it, both Scott Lang and Stephen Strange have been to the Quantum Realm for extended periods, so where was the TVA those times to destroy that universe? If one pocket dimension exists, why shouldn’t others?) Loki and Sylvie are correcting the timeline by stopping the TVA from creating their false Sacred Timeline. And this will ultimately lead to the TVA’s destruction temporarily, until the multiverse war happens again, the timelines will be destroyed til there is only one, and the Time Keepers will make the TVA yet again at the End of Time. It’s a never-ending loop. A Möbius strip.
Going back to Wandavision, Wanda’s nexus event is just one blip. Something that will have implications down the line and I think is setting up a loose trilogy of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, (Maybe Eternals), Spider-Man: No Way Home, and will finish in Ant-Man and the Wasp in Quantumania. I would assume Thor Love and Thunder ties directly to Loki as well, but not quite in the same way. (Unless Jane Foster as Thor is a Multiverse shenanigan too.)
Either way. These are sleep deprived ramblings. What do you think?
Tl;dr: I believe Loki will break the Multiverse and stop the TVA so that the multiverse war will happen and create the TVA.
