The ARG is NOT related to Local 58. Now, the creators (whom I have spoken with) have confirmed despite the numerous people who have become confused that it is NOT connect to Local 58. They have confirmed that in game and out of character.

It isn’t as bad it seems (it had a a lot bad things in the beginning but it's getting better as the story has progressed). It does involve the moon, but only via having the moon's energy connecting us to a parallel universe that takes place in 2023. It doesn't even focus on the news station that much as it takes place on a Discord server mainly. I talked and found out Local 50 News wasn't the original focus of the story. It was actually just about a world with a corrupt "Big Brother" government that was in the future. Currently, I'm helping them improve their ARG. It's not the news station that's the focus. It's the Run Red Corporation. It does take place on Twitter and YouTube too, but not as much. It was planned in the making for five years.

They actually told me that the main inspirations were Channel 7 and Year Zero actually. This ARG actually has time and effort put into it. Careful planning, etc. They even have a whole team (editors, script writers, main user, and some other people who I don't know about). I was originally just a player (still am) and I am now actually helping on planning and concept creation. I even made a subreddit for it. r/Local50News (if you do decide to check it out, please be kind there).

I hope this clears some things up. I have seen way too many people confused about this being just an effortless ripoff with no story or being related to Local 58.
