Was this an episode of Little House on the Prairie?

Way back in like 2000-2001 (I was ages 7-9) I was with my mom and she was watching reruns of old shows and there was an episode I only saw the beginning of and I'm not sure if it was Little House on the Prairie or not, I do know it was a rustic/frontier/western show. Here is what I remember:

School ends and two boys walk out. Boy A wants to go play by a lake but Boy B says he has to go home. Boy A convinces Boy B to go play by the lake and they go. While by the lake Boy B's father comes back and whoops him by the lake with Boy A looking on from behind some bushes.

That's all I remember, am I barking up the wrong tree?
