hey all! I have the LR3 and I loved it for the first couple months but the smell is getting so insane I want to cry because I feel like I wasted money. The litter I use is Tidy Cats which for sure can be the culprit, but try as I might the robot still smells bad even after a deep clean. I noticed that between the little filter/strainer almost it has to separate the clumps from clean litter is a foam strip that is completely covered in wet and disgusting litter and I can’t take the litter robot apart enough to get behind there and wash it off. Is there anyway that I can remove and replace this foam liner? If not, I am going to have to throw this machine away I got it back in March. It’s way too soon to have these issues. Any help would be appreciated

Its mostly trial and error! For myself and my house, I have 2 litter robots and I use boxiecat litter (from Chewy) and a combination of arm & hammer munchkin deodorizers meant for diaper genies or a fresh wave deodorizer gel (both from amazon). This was after cleaning the globe in my bath tub with luke warm water and dish soap. if you don’t want to get on your hands and knees to scrub, i suggest getting a cheap toilet brush reserved for the litter robot cleanings. That and also changing the filter, but i feel like the filter doesn’t really do much in the way of odor control. the gel and/or the munchkin deodorants go a long way! good luck!!
