I'm in the middle of the Stork Tower series. It's got some significant flaws, but it's one of the few LitRPGs that has managed to keep the IRL aspects interesting.
I think part of what makes it so successful is that the protagonist is fighting an enemy across multiple game universes. The bulk of the story takes place in a fantasy game, but there's also a sci-fi universe as well as a steampunk universe.
The only other book I've seen that does this is Omegaverse, but I found it a little bit jarring, because it's just a total switch from sci-fi to fantasy in book 4. Are there any other examples, even just web novels?
