So I vaguely remember reading this a long time ago and I was put off by the length (first book is pretty short) and some of the humour didn't land with me but it seems like there are 7 or so books now which have been getting longer so I thought I'd potentially revisit it.
Does anybody have any insight into the quality of the series? Does it get better over time, is it good overall or is it a bit like The Good Guys, where it starts off ok but nothing really happens and there's no real permanent character development as I don't want to buy 5 books only to get stuck in that trap again.
